Going Mango! at Parrot Key Caribbean Grill

May 20, 2014

The weather is beautiful!.  Very spring like and there is even a little bit of a cool breeze. You have to take advantage of that when you can so we decided to head out and check out Parrot Key Caribbean Grill on Ft Myers Beach.

You can get to Parrot Key Caribbean Grill by boat or car (bike or hike too!).  It’s got great water views and fantastic caribbean food.

Next door there is a cute little gift shop.  Perfect for mementos with a caribbean flair.

After sitting down and looking at the vast menu, we decided on what to order for lunch.  I ordered the Crab, Avocado & Mango Stack.  It had lump crabmeat, layers of lime cilantro avocado, fresh mango salsa citrus vinaigrette.  I asked for the Cajun remoulade on the side.  I think I won table favorite! It’s even pretty to look at!

My husband ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap with yellow beans and rice.  He said it was delish!

Our friends ordered Fish Tacos and a Chicken Burrito.  The tacos were topped with spiced mango-jicama slaw, green onions, tomatoes, guac, and Key Lime citrus sour cream drizzle.  Black beans and rice on the side. I’d love to make these at home sometime!

The Curry Chicken Roti (otherwise know as a Caribbean Burrito)  was chicken,  potatoes,  corn, onions, and peppers. The sauce is a yellow curry sauce.  All this is wrapped was wrapped in a  flour tortilla and grilled. The burrito is topped with mango salsa and there is yellow rice and beans on the side…can you say YUM!
