Last Saturday our friends from out of town came over and we decided to head down to 3rd Street South in Naples and grab some dinner at Campiello. It’s one of our favorite Italian restaurants in town.
Campiello offers inside and outside dining. It was a bit warm on this summer night in June in Naples, so we decided to eat inside by the bar.
Campiello has a great menu. They also offer a “seasonal” menu that you can choose from paired with wines.
First up…Appetizers! We ordered the Spicy Fried Calamari and the Antipasti of Mixed Salami. The Calamari disappeared quickly…one of the guys favorites.
This Antipasti platter was unbelievable! I especially loved the eggplant bruchetta.. I could have eaten this for my meal!
On to the main course! I opted for my favorite Grilled Organic Scottish Salmon. Cooked perfectly! It was served with Lentils.
My hubby ordered the Linguini Fini with Clams, white wine and garlic. He must have liked it a lot…no leftovers here.
My friend ordered the Balsamic-Glazed Short Ribs. I’ve had these before and they are probably, in my opinion, the best item on the menu. The ribs are so tender and taste soooo good.
My friends husband ordered of Spaghetti with Sicilian Meatballs. A traditional dish that was wonderful. It didn’t disappoint!
One of the best things about eating out down on 3rd Street South is that you are only a few blocks from the beach. After spending the evening catching up over great food and wine, we took a stroll down to the beach (admiring all the little cottages on the way).
We arrived just in time for sunset.
The next time you’re down on 3rd Street South, try out Campiello… you won’t be disappointed. Good food, good friends, beautiful sunset….Now THAT was a perfect evening!
