We are so fortunate in SW Florida to have LOTS of beaches to choose from. Last weekend we decided to head down to one of my favorites, Clam Pass in Naples.
Clam Pass is located off Seagate Drive and Crayton Road. It’s a Collier County Park and is free to visitors with beach parking stickers. If you don’t have a sticker don’t worry, it’s just a minimal charge. The Waldorf Astoria and the County have an agreement to share the beach access so if you want a great place to stay close the the beach the Waldorf Astoria is a wonderful option too.
At the entrance to the park there is an area where you can borrow life vests for the little ones. Great idea!
You have two options to get to the beach, walk along the boardwalk or take a tram ride. Both take you along the boardwalk through a mangrove forest. We opted to walk as it was such a beautiful day. It’s approximately a 6/10th of a mile so it’s an easy walk. Here’s a picture of the tram available to take you to the beach…hmm…we might have to take this back after a long beach walk.
Here are a few pics of our walk along the way…BEAUTIFUL!!
At the end of the boardwalk you will run into a pavilion that houses a restaurant, chair and beach activity rentals and restrooms. The Waldorf Astoria runs the restaurant and the food looks great..more about that in a minute.
What a view! Nice reward after a hot walk.
Beach Chairs, Kayaks and Paddle Boards are available for rent. Head to the Tiki Hut for info.
Feel like treating yourself to something special? Rent a Beach Lounge for the day…Sign me up!!
Hungry for a little lunch? Just up the walkway is the beachside restaurant which offers some great choices.
My husband got the Blackened Fish Sandwich and said it was great too.
Nice view while eating lunch, right?!
Time to head back… There’s the tram waiting for us!
The next time you feel like heading to the beach, try out Clam Pass.
It makes for a great day!
