Three60 Market

March 30, 2017

Here’s a new favorite lunch spot of ours!  Three60 Market located on the east trail in Naples.

table 360

Great bungalow style decor and you can get there by car or boat…bike too!

As you can see they have a wonderful menu…fresh, delicious and affordable.  They are known for the best wine prices in town.  A glass of wine is $3.00 which makes it hard to resist. I love the beachy decor too!

Check out my salad!  I had a great salad filled with berries, nuts and goat cheese. Yum!!

My hubby ordered Eggs Benedict which was wonderful and it didn’t disappoint.

Three60 Market also has prepared foods that you can take home.  Oh, and don’t forget to grab a dessert…Coconut Pie, Limoncello Marscapone Cake and lots of others
to choose from.

Three60 Market is open Tuesday-Sunday 8:00am-5:00pm.  Check it out…you will be happy you did!

It’s raining….WHAT!

March 25, 2016

It’s raining, it’s pouring, the old man is….we’ll…probably sleeping in.  So you come to Florida to dance in the sunshine, swim with the Dolphins, have fruity cocktails while watching the sunset, and then look what happens….IT RAINS!  What!!  That wasn’t in the brochure?  Well, rest easy, I’m going to show you how to enjoy a rainy day in Naples.

First…after you have woken up and looked out the window…complained and fussed…, go get yourself a cup of coffee. Next, pick one of these fun things to keep you amused when the sky is dropping H2O.

Lunch Out….

Boy or boy, let me tell you, we’ve got restaurants galore.  Go out and try a new restaurant (some listed on this site).  Make it a long, lovely, lunch.  Don’t let that waiter rush you…take you’re time and enjoy. Everyone needs a 3 hour lunch once in a while!  Here are a few of my favorites.

Bricktops at Waterside
D’Amico’s
Masa
La Bazenne on Fifth

Movie Day!!

Put your little rain boots on and head over to Silverspot at Mercado.  This is one of my all time favorite things to do.  They have really comfy, large, relaxing, snuggly chairs (yea…I like the chairs).  You can get food and drinks (yes…full bar folks) and reserved seating.  You can pick which seat you want.  I’m a “G” row person myself.  Not too close, not too far from the screen.  Anyway, try it, you’ll like it…I promise.

Silverspot Theater

Shopping!

Come on!!! Everyone likes to have a little retail therapy on a rainy day.  Naples gives you PLENTY of places that accept that little plastic card or cash.  These stores would love to recommend the perfect outfit or perfect accessory.  You need to bring home a souvenir anyway, so make this the day for it.  Go for a wander (I love that word).  I believe I have perfected the art of wandering.  Anyway…Waterside Shops, Venetian Village, 5th and 3rd Street and Coconut Point are just a few of the great wandering spots.

Walk on the Beach..

What?  Walking on the beach in the rain?  I know this sounds a little bit ridiculous, but how about a romantic walk on the beach.  Of course, if it’s thundering, do what the weather folks say…”When Thunder roars…STAY indoors!”  But if it’s just sprinkling, grab that umbrella and take a walk.  Very ZEN….can you say OMMMMMMM.

Get cozy

If all those suggestions seem a bit too adventurous, choose to relax and get cozy.  Put those fuzzy slippers on, pour yourself some tea and grab a good book.  When you’re in Florida there’s a lot of pressure to enjoy that beach, swim in the water and check out those restaurants.  Use today as a good excuse to just “BE”.  I’m trying to perfect this myself (hey…no judging my bunny slippers!).

Relax

There you go!  Enjoy your rainy day in Naples and remember, it’s never rains for long in SW Florida!

Coffee time!….at The Brick Coffee and Bar

March 19, 2016

Do you like coffee?  How about creamy, frothy, chocolaty coffee?  For me there is nothing better…especially a frothy, latte with a shake or two of chocolate on the top.  How does that sound for a midday pick-me up?

The Brick Coffee and Bar

We were wandering down 5th Avenue last week in Naples and decided to try out The Brick Coffee and Bar.

We had just eaten, so a great cup of coffee was what we were after.  I ordered a Latte with frothed coconut milk.  When I was asked if I would like chocolate on top, my answer was a loud YES!

The Brick Coffee and Bar

The Brick Coffee and Bar is a great little place to stop in for a bite and coffee/tea.  They also serve beer and wine (tempting, but a little too early in the day).   While you’re there, you’ll notice the cute decor (chandeliers included) and a really nice staff.  If you’re wandering down 5th Avenue, it’s about half way down on the North side of the street.  Perfectly placed to take a break while shopping.  The address is 531 5th Avenue South.

My next visit will definitely include lunch as their sandwiches and salads looked delicious!

Give The Brick Coffee and Bar a try…I know you’ll like it.  Don’t forget to ask for the powdered chocolate topping!

Fruits and Veggies at the Farmers Market

September 14, 2015
Farmers Market

It’s hot outside and we’re nearing the end of summer here in Naples.  The snowbirds are going to be arriving soon.  Snowbirds, if you are wondering what I’m talking about, are the Naples winter residents that come down after spending a lovely cool summer up north.  You see, our seasons are switched down here.  Everyone leaves in the summer when it’s gets super hot, and returns to Naples from October thru May.  We have a very vibrant community year round and the population triples in the winter.  Anyway, back to the Farmers Market…  On this summer Saturday I decided to wander down to one of our great Farmers Markets, The Shoppes at Vanderbilt Farmers Market.  We have several here in town and it makes for a great way to start your weekend.

Farmers Market

I got busy snapping away and taking pics of all the fresh produce.  Look at these veggies!  I’m thinking a Cauliflower soup needs to be on next weeks menu!

Farmers Market

Pineapples, bananas, mango….YUM!  This says “Smoothie Time” for me!

Farmers Market

There were some great plants on display for sale also.  I don’t have the greenest thumb, as my good friend Ann Marie tells me, so I decided to look and not buy.  Let’s let them live another day!  Beautiful Plants…loving the pink flowers!

I did stumble upon the Southern Hive Honey Company.  I love honey!  It’s a great natural sweetener and I use it tons.  He had four different kinds for sale…all local.

Farmers Market

I ended up buying a small bottle of all four…Black Mangrove, Wild Florida, Orange Blossom and Saw Palmetto.  Stay tuned to the blog for an upcoming taste test!

Farmers Market

So there you have it!  A fantastic reason to NOT just sit at home on a Saturday morning in Naples.  Get out there!  Check out all the wonderful produce, plants, foods and items at the local farmers market.  See you there!!

La Moraga and Tapas Tuesday!

August 17, 2015
lamoraga

There’s a new restaurant in town and it’s name is La Moraga! I’ve seen this building while driving back and forth on US 41 for a while, and wasn’t quite sure what to think.  It was a very modern building, that’s for sure. Well, upon further investigation (I love to investigate new things!), I found out it was a Spanish Tapas restaurant.  So…on Friday night, my hubby and I decided to give it a try and guess what…..(drum roll…) we LOVED it!! The food was delish. We actually went two times that week.  On Friday we ate in the bar and took advantage of their happy hour. In the summer, they are offering select $5.00 tapas and drink specials until 6. The following Tuesday, we went back with our good friends and ate in the restaurant side. Tuesdays are called Tapas Tuesdays…buy one Tapas and get one free. You didn’t have to ask me twice.

The décor inside is refreshingly modern and full of clean lines and great lighting.  They have a huge bar where you can sit and watch the chefs create…great for date night!

Lamoraga

Here’s a little peek at the menu.  YUM!

la moraga

We started with a cheese and meat platter and continued on with a salad, meat crochettes, shrimp and a meat slider… ALL great.
